Hammer-Wing Quick-Connect Coupling Features

    Traditional quick-connect couplings mainly rely on either ball-lock or threaded connections between the male and female halves. Ball-lock couplings are typically used in low-pressure, non-back-pressure applications, whereas threaded connections are chosen for high-pressure systems capable of withstanding back pressure. Existing threaded quick-connect couplings usually have knurled or hexagonal outer surfaces and are tightened by hand or with a wrench. When residual pressure remains inside, rotating the coupling sleeve becomes difficult, often resulting in insufficient torque and ineffective pre-tightening—creating potential safety risks in critical applications. Additionally, conventional couplings depend on a single O-ring seal on the male half. Frequent connect/disconnect cycles wear this external O-ring, causing seal degradation and eventual system failure over time, again introducing safety concerns.


    Our company's hammer-actuated quick-connect coupling incorporates hammer wings and multi-stage sealing. The design includes a male half, a female half, and a threaded sleeve surrounding the female half. The male half's front shell carries external threads and contains an internal annular seal, plus a male poppet valve. The female half houses a female poppet valve. The sleeve's internal thread mates with the male's external thread; rotating the sleeve draws the male and female halves together until the poppets contact. The shells seal via the annular O-ring, while a secondary front seal on the female poppet adds another sealing line. Hammer wings on the sleeve allow impact tightening. This novel structure offers simple machining, easy operation, high sealing integrity, longer service life, and improved equipment safety.
